Shana Swash, a former EastEnders star and sister of Joe Swash, has announced she’s pregnant with her first baby.
The actress played the role of Demi Miller in the BBC One soap, who gave birth when she was 13 years old in a controversial storyline in the early 2000s.
Shana spent two years on Albert Square as part of the Miller family, but was written out of the show in 2006 when Demi left to live in the Cotswolds with her mum.
Now though, Shana has taken her career in a different direction, having started her own business, opening a pop-up coffee shop in North London.
Away from the job world, Shana recently revealed her pregnancy news.
Posting an image of herself and her partner, Nick Jones, alongside a variety of scan pictures, Shana wrote alongside: ‘PENDING….BABY JONES 5TH DECEMBER 2023’.
Currently engaged to partner Nick, Shana often posts updates of her life on social media, sharing what she gets up to away from the spotlight and her acting life since leaving EastEnders, which has seen her star in a variety of short films, Top Boy and Doctors.
While her next project, an independent film called Love Without Walls, is set to come out later this year, Shana also has plans to continue expanding her coffee shop business.
‘I really fell in love with coffee and lockdown gave me the push to get out of my comfort zone and start my own business’, she told The Sun.
‘Honestly, I’ve loved every minute of it. There’s only me, I run it full-time on a day-to-day basis and am your local barista in a park near to where I grew up.
‘It’s allowed me to meet loads of people, like the really die-hard EastEnders fans, and become friends with them too.’
‘Ive only been open for a year-and-a-half but I want to expand’, she added.
‘I’d love us to be a brand that people recognise so watch this space. Hopefully we’ll be taking over… Starbucks who?’.
