Country star Keith Urban has been ruling the country airways for more than two decades, recording 44 Hot 100 songs and two No. 1 albums. According to the Tennessean, nine of Urban’s ten albums sold more than 1 million copies and went platinum or multiplatinum, with the exception of his latest project, Graffiti U, which went certified gold in July 2019.
“It shows that Keith has stayed at the very top of the game and true to his fan base for longer than most artists have careers,” said Universal Music Group Nashville President Cindy Mabe (via the Tennessean). “Keith continues to set his pace, reinvent his sound and express what he wants to say while continuing to learn, discover and grow with his music. And his fans have stayed right there with him.”
Not only are his fans right there with him, but so is the cash. After more than 20 years of music, how much is this country star actually worth? Let’s add it up.
Keith Urban made millions judging American Idol
With ten albums under his belt, and stints as a talent judge on two different reality competition shows, Keith Urban is reportedly worth about $75 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The Aussie served as a judge on The Voice Australia before leaving in 2012 to judge for American Idol. According to the International Business Times, Urban allegedly was paid $6.6 million for his time on The Voice.
Urban joined American Idol for seasons 12, 13, and 14, judging at different points alongside former panelists Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. During his time on the hit series, the country singer reportedly pulled in $3.5 million per season, according to Taste of Country.
Even after his Idol days, Urban was listed as No. 3 on Forbes‘ highest paid country acts of 2019, pulling in about $35 million.
Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman's combined wealth is eye-popping
If being ridiculously wealthy as a country star and high-profile talent scout wasn’t enough, Keith Urban’s wife, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, adds even more zeros to this couple’s bottom line.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Big Little Lies star is worth about $250 million. Add that to Urban’s roughly $75 million, and what do you get? A whole lot of cheddar, and plenty of property, too! The Daily Mail reports that the couple owns multiple homes around the world, including a 4.7 million mansion in Beverly Hills, a $4.9 million estate in Nashville, a $10 million penthouse in New York City, and more. Urban and Kidman even purchased a 110-acre farm in Australia in 2008 worth about $4.8 million.
“A small cottage lies behind the main house where Kidman fetches eggs in the morning, and fields of grazing cows surround a large barn. There is even a pen for llamas or alpacas,” reports Forbes. Is that what you’d call agriculture or agricouture?
