LITTLE Mix took a swipe at Perrie Edwards' ex-fiancé Zayn Malik on their new show The Search – calling his former band One Direction "bland".
The BBC One show launched at the weekend, with the girl group on the hunt for the UK's next big band.
The stars rejected one hopeful after comparing him to X Factor superstars 1D, with Perrie dating Zayn between 2012 and 2015.
After Mason sang a rendition of Niall Horan's solo hit, Slow Hands, Jade Thirlwall said: "You can definitely see that One Direction vibe.
"The people we have been putting through today have steered away now from that pop-ness."
Jesy Nelson agreed: "You're just a little bit too safe for me."
After Mason left the room, Jesy continued: "He is more suited to a One Direction and not a cool R&B group."
Perrie agreed, adding: "It was just a bit bland. It was like spag bol without the seasoning."
Perrie began dating Zayn in May 2012, back when he was still in One Direction.
The couple got engaged in August 2013 but broke up two years later – with their relationship plagued with rumours of him cheating at the time.
Perrie, who claimed that Zayn ended their engagement via text, previously talked about being homeless after they split up.
The singer, who'd been living with Zayn when they split, said in Little Mix's book Our World: "After I split with my partner, out of the blue, I had nowhere to go, which was incredibly stressful.
"For a while I had no idea what to do. I thought about renting but I've got dogs and cats, so that was no good. At the time we were promoting Black Magic, and while I was in America, things really hit me and I panicked."
She added: "I realised I was homeless. I was crying every day, dreading coming back."
Zayn recently welcomed his first child, a baby girl, with model partner Gigi Hadid.
Meanwhile, Perrie is loved up with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
