Love Island bosses have had a strict rule for alcoholic beverages in place for the past few years, with islanders restricted to just two drinks per night.

Islanders are usually seen with a drink in the evening whether they're on dates or having a tipple between them – but Megan Barton Hanson was having none of it during her series.

Dani Dyer revealed in her recent YouTube video that the entire villa were punished after Megan "stole" everyone's drinks.

She said: "I did miss not being able to have one little extra drink. Megan once, she doesn't mind me talking about it now, she stole all of our drinks and then we got barred from drinking for a week.

"I can't believe she did that to us. I've still never forgiven her to be honest and I have never forgotten it – no I love her really. But that's probably the worst thing."

During a question and answer video, Dani answered a number of questions about life as a mum and Love Island.

She said some of the other negatives of the show included not knowing what to expect and the limitation on food.

She said: "They had catering and stuff so I really did miss a lot of foods and I the two alcoholic beverages of a night as well, I didn't like that. It was annoying.

"Then again I was sort of glad that we wasn't allowed to drink a lot of alcohol every single night, I feel like it would have been a completely different show."

She explained that she believes it would have changed the concept, adding: "You are what you are when you're sober. Sometimes when you're drunk you can go a little bit AWOL."

Dani admitted that her favourite thing about the show is being "away from the world", she said: "You're able to escape, but your phone down and say this is it, live in this bubble, live in this fairy-tale world.

"It's just not reality. You're never able to do that, escape from everything and have no stresses and no worries."

During her time on the show, Dani coupled up with Jack Fincham and ultimately went on to win the show.

The following year the pair called time on their romance and went their separate ways as Dani reunited with her ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence and went on to have her first child, Santiago.

Months after Santiago was born, Dani's boyfriend Sammy was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison after he was found guilty of scamming two elderly men out of £34,000, after he fraudulently posed as a financial investor.
