LOVE Island's Amy Hart is secretly hoping that Curtis Pritchard will realise what he has lost and come back to her.
The 26-year-old air stewardess sensationally quit the ITV2 villa earlier this week as she struggled to cope with her split from the professional dancer.
Her moving leaving speech was praised by viewers, with many confessing that they'd been left in tears as the blonde beauty told Curtis, 23, that she hopes they will be "best friends" some day in the future.
However, The Sun Online can exclusively reveal that Amy actually hopes her exit will force Curtis to have a change of heart.
An insider explained: "Amy is hoping that by leaving, Curtis will realise what he has lost and that he has made a mistake.
"She still has feelings for him and even though she’s saying she wants to build a friendship, she is secretly hoping that Curtis realises his true feelings.
"Amy hopes that by leaving he will realise how much he misses her and has a change of heart – realising he has made a mistake."
The Islander's decision to quit the show was well-received by fans, who lauded her for doing what was best for her mental health.
Explaining her decision to Curtis, she said at the time: "I met you and you completely turned my whole world around. We made each other happy… I want us to be best, best friends but we both need to move on and we both need to find someone that is going to make us as happy as we make them.
"Realistically for you, you will not be happy all the time here because you’ll always put me first because you’re such a good person.
"That’s why I love you so much and that’s why I want you to be happy. You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here. So, I’m leaving today but it’s a positive thing because I’m going to go and start the rest of my life today.
"I’m going to let you go and you pursue whoever it is you want to pursue and hope that you find whatever you are looking for.
"Once this is all done we will have the best friendship you have ever seen in your life."
The Sun Online later revealed that Curtis had begged her to stay in an emotional showdown that didn't make it to air.
Amy coupled up with Curtis on the very first day of this year's series of Love Island, with the pair going on to call each other "half boyfriend and girlfriend" just days later.
However, Amy was left devastated when Curtis' head was turned during last week's Casa Amor twist – where he admitted that he'd snub Amy in favour of new girl Jourdan Riane if she'd been interested.
The confession broke the blonde beauty's heart, and it only got worse when the hunk then dumped her because he couldn't promise he wouldn't be tempted to stray again.
To rub salt in the wound, Maura Higgins quickly made her interest in Curtis known, cracking on with him in front of Amy – which was another factor in her decision to leave the villa.
