Love Island 2021 star Shannon Singh has opened up about how being a Page 3 model for Daily Star has given her a "thick skin".
From glamour shoots to e-commerce fashion modelling, Shannon is used to a life in front of the cameras, but she has admitted that Love Island will be on a "much larger scale".
"There's only so much you can be prepared for," she told Daily Star.
Opening up about her glamour modelling career, Shannon said: "I actually get quite sad that it's over, but I wish I was a little bit older so I had the more glory days of glamour.
"Obviously when I done it it was kind of like, fizzling out. But I am grateful that I got to experience it a little bit. I shot loads of them, I remember being in the Christmas edits.
"I actually got to speak to a super-fan, which was really cute. Looking back, and I can say 'Oh, I was a Page 3 girl' and now it's not a thing because it fizzled out, but I look back on it and think, 'Jeez, I actually did that!'"
When asked if her glamour days might have prepared her for being in front of the cameras in the villa, Shannon explained: "Definitely. I've done glamour modelling, I've done e-commerce modelling for brands, I've done Instagram work.
"I've grown a thick skin having an online presence and doing what I do, but I do think that this is gonna be on a much larger scale.
"But I'm quite thick-skinned. I don't let things get to me too easily, but I mean we're all human."
Speaking about her OnlyFans stint, Shannon said: "I made good money.
"I think the thing that people don't realise is once I started glamour modelling, the industry kind of went kaput. And OnlyFans has got this stereotype, but I had it when nobody knew what it was. It was a platform for glamour girls.
"The way I looked at it was, I had an agency, they were gonna take 35 percent commission, you had this new, upcoming subscription page called OnlyFans that took 20 percent, and it gave creatives more control."
Shannon went on: "When you're in the glamour industry and you're shooting all these things, you sign releases and lose control of what content they've got of you.
"So OnlyFans has given models and creatives – because it's a massive site, it's not just glamour or porn – a really good income stream.
"But there's also the misconception of it and it's got a stereotype and perception of, 'oh, girls with OnlyFans', whereas I was a published model who had to salvage a career because obviously all the papers were fizzling out, we had to take control of our content and own it.

Asked if she'd be willing to break up another relationship in the villa, Shannon said: "If I've got some of the girls telling me how much they like a guy, I'm not gonna be that awful person to just crack on. It's not in my nature.
"But it's hard to predict because we don't know what's gonna happen, but I'm not gonna sh** on someone for the benefit of me."
