Love Island’s Sophie Piper the latest reality star to break travel ban as she jets to the Maldives with boyfriend Casey

SOPHIE Piper has jetted off to the Maldives for a romantic break with boyfriend Casey despite the UK's travel ban.

The 21-year-old, who is the younger sister of This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes, made no effort to hide the fact she had broken Covid-19 restrictions.

Sophie took to Instagram to shared a selfie in her bikini after arriving on an exotic island – the same day the UK travel ban was enforced.

She is the latest of a series of reality stars who have left the country, despite rules stating overseas trips are only permitted for work.

While her reasons are unknown, the Love Island contestant looks to be doing plenty of relaxing alongside her model boyfriend Casey.

Over the weekend, the Essex beauty posed in a backless white dress as she enjoyed her break, telling her fans: "You know the vibes."

On Tuesday, she further updated fans sharing a photo of a sunset over the Maldives, showing a collection of palm trees and huts dimly lit from behind.

"Forever counting my blessings," she wrote of the scene, setting her location at the Hard Rock Hotel, the Maldives.

She also treated fans to a sultry picture of her in nude-coloured swimwear, with crystal waters extending for miles behind her.

Boyfriend Casey has also been posting snaps from the trip, as he was spotted enjoying a huge breakfast on a floating tray as he relaxed in the pool.

"How do you like your eggs in the morning," he captioned the picture, which sees the couple sipping on champagne.

Sophie joins other influencer celebrities including Laura Anderson and Sophia Peschisolido who have used work as an excuse to leave the UK.

The current lockdown guidelines state that you can "only travel internationally where you first have a legally permitted reason to leave home".

These reasons are limited exclusively to work, accessing education and returning home to your country if you are a visitor.

It's not the first time loved-up pair Sophie and Casey have holidayed this year, visiting Ibiza together in October.

The couple's break came months after The Sun Online revealed that Sophie split earlier in the year from her Love Island ex Connor Durman.

“Things just fizzled out,” a source explained of their separation in July 2020. “They never even went official.

"It just didn’t have a chance to get started because of lockdown and they both agreed it was better to just stay friends."
