Since the Dubai-based fitness fanatic met the stylish single mum at the altar, Married At First Sight fans have been pondering whether Franky and Marilyse could really go the distance. And sadly, it seems their relationship just wasn't meant to be.
The first hiccups came on the couple's wedding day, as the motivational coach revealed that he had lived in Dubai for 16 years, before Marilyse in turn told her groom that she had two sons, while parenthood hadn't been top of his wish list.
Throughout the process fans have waved red flags about the challenges the couple faced.
And both viewers and the show's matchmakers were stunned when during a confrontation at one of the volatile dinner parties, Franky infamously told Marylise not to speak when he was speaking.
Yet despite all their issues, the pair pledged to stay together at their final commitment ceremony, with Franky telling his wife that they should get on with the rest of their lives together.
And in Monday night's reunion episode, the couple were still going strong – but it has since been revealed that they've gone their separate ways.
A source told the Sun: "It's all over between Marilyse and Franky. They're very private about their relationship so it has come as a shock to a lot of people.
"No one knows what really went on, but Franky is already back in Dubai for a fresh start."
The reunion show was filmed back in August, and it seems that the couple were still together when the E4 series started airing in September.
But while he temporarily relocated back to the UK, Franky has returned to living in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Marilyse caught up with her fellow MAFS stars Bob, Megan and Luke at the celebrity boxing event on Saturday night, where she partied with her co-stars in the VIP guest section of the venue.
Ahead of the reunion episode on Monday night, mum-of-two Marilyse addressed the end of the experiment on Instagram.
"It's sad that tonight is our final show, The Reunion,” she said. "Life approximately ten weeks after filming our vow renewals.
"It was a special day to have everyone together for one last time and also hear about everyone's relationship… We hope you all enjoy the last show. Love to all the cast."
For now, the reasons why Franky and Marilyse split remain a mystery.
Thanks to the revamped format, many of the show’s 16 singletons struck up strong friendships during the process – so at least the duo have friends who understand what they’ve been through.
And who knows? Perhaps the likes of fellow singletons Megan and Morag will persuade Marilyse to hit the town and look for a new love.
Or maybe the UK show will take another leaf out of the Aussie programme's book, and bring back one of this year’s losers in love to try to meet their match again in the next series…
