Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) is set to be left seething in tonight’s visit to EastEnders as his relationship with Chantelle’s (Jessica Plummer) dad Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) continues to deteriorate. And, as Gray storms off after Mitch pulls another stunt, has he been pushed too far and can Mitch make things up to his son-in-law?
Mitch has made it pretty clear that he disapproves of Gray and the pair haven’t been able to gel, despite Gray’s efforts to fit in and build a relationship. Meanwhile, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) can’t praise Gray enough as he has stood up for her and the clan and blended into Albert Square life.
In another attempt to become a part of the community, Gray is taking part in the charity race tonight but what starts off as a bit of fun soon turns overly competitve. As Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) is focusing on Ollie, Gray’s ambition is to beat a cocky Mitch in the run.
But sneaky Mitch ends up taking the gold medal after cheating – and when he is busted in the pub, he laughs it off and comes clean. However, Gray is not seeing the funny side – has he reached the end of his tether with Mitch as the Square laugh at his antics?
Can Karen and Chantelle unite the men as they continue to psychologically butt heads? Or will they never get on?
EastEnders continues on Friday 12th July at 8:30pm on BBC One.
