NCIS season 19 will be picking up directly from the edge-of-your-seat finale of the previous season on CBS. With Agent Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) still no closer to discovering the truth behind the disturbing series of murders, there has been speculation Marcie Warren (Pam Dawber) could be behind them. A new theory suggests there is more to Marcie than meets the eye.
Is Marcie Warren the serial killer?
Pam Dawber’s introduction to NCIS was a long time coming for fans, with her inclusion being a welcome addition to the ensemble cast.
As Mark Harmon’s real-life wife, fans had been demanding her inclusion for several years.
Dawber is a star in her own right, best known for her work in Mork & Mindy, as Mindy herself, the star was a natural fit for the show.
Though mostly now retired, Dawber decided to return to acting to give fans what they wanted and see Harmon and Dawber on screen together in the beloved series.
However, her inclusion looks to only be for the singular season, as she is unconfirmed to return for season 19.
Yet, she was integral to Gibbs’ hunt for the serial killer in season 18, leading many fans to believe she will make a surprise return when the series comes back on September 20.
With nothing confirmed, speculation is once again running wild, with many viewers turning to Reddit to discuss the possibility of her comeback.
On the NCIS forum, one user asked the question: “Could Pam Dawber Return as Marcie Warren to CBS?”
Another replied: “Since she’s part of the hunt for the killer, it’s highly possible she could return. Another possibility is that the killer gets her too. I have not heard yay or nay on this.”
Yet, another fan hit back with a much darker idea, suggesting that Marcie could be the killer Gibbs has been looking for.
“Or that she is the killer,” the user replied.
“I’ve wondered that too. They haven’t released anything on the S19 storyline, but we’d have to assume something with the serial killer because of the way it ended,” another user added.
Of course, nothing has been revealed about the next season of the series, with CBS keeping the plot under wraps.
Anything is possible for the new season though, as there are a lot of changes in store for the cast.
Gary Cole is joining the show as FBI Special Agent Alden Park, who some fans believe could be behind the killings.
As Harmon is only set to appear in a handful of episodes, it will leave other members of the team to lead the investigation.
This makes it less likely for Marcie to be behind the killings, as if she was it would lead to a heavily Gibbs centric storyline.
Yet, the extent of Harmon’s appearance in the new season remains to be seen, as there is always the chance he could appear more than expected.
But with reports earlier this year suggesting Harmon was originally looking to exit the show, fans should prepare for a minimal appearance from Gibbs.
For now, fans will continue to speculate on season 19 as it is set to be one of the most different seasons for the show in recent memory.
NCIS season 19 will premiere on CBS on September 20 in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
