After rumblings that the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestants are getting an easy ride in the Welsh castle compared to the Australian jungle, Peter Andre has waded into the debate to claim his time on the show was much tougher than the current series.
new magazine columnist Pete, 47, writes that his crop of celebrities weren’t given hints on how to complete trials – a claim that was made last week.
He wrote: “It’s been reported that the contestants this year are being shown how to complete the Bushtucker Trials before they do them.
“We had it pretty rough in the Aussie jungle and we definitely weren’t shown how to complete the trials.

“I’ve loved this series but having been thrown into a bug-infested jungle in Australia, I feel like they’ve been taking it too easy on them in Wales!”
This year’s crop of celebs include Victoria Derbyshire and Beverley Callard – who were both voted out on Monday night's show – and Shane Richie.
Pete, who appeared on the 2004 series, went on to admit that he even smoked cigarettes in a bid to banish his appetite due to a lack of food in camp.

He explained: “All jokes aside, I’m sure they’ve found it tough.
“When I was on the show in 2004 people were being sick because they were so hungry, so we were given a ration of a biscuit or two cigarettes.
“I couldn’t even think about smoking now, but back then I was taking the cigarette as it suppressed my appetite!
“I knew if I took a biscuit it would just make me more starving.”
Meanwhile, Pete, who met ex-wife Katie Price, 42, on his series of I’m A Celeb, has revealed their daughter Princess – who he calls Bista – has aspirations to appear on the show herself.
He continued: “My daughter Bista has said that she’d love to go on I’m A Celeb.
“It was one of the best experiences of my life, so I’d love to see her on it one day.
“As long as it’s not Love Island lol – unless she presents it, of course!”
