Former Batwoman star Ruby Rose is speaking out candidly about her experiences on season 1 of the show, detailing toxic behavior and numerous injuries. The model and actress left Batwoman after only a season despite the show’s season 2 pickup, leaving the Arrowverse series without its lead character Kate Kane.
Fans have spent a long time wondering why Ruby chose to leave Batwoman, and while the actress previously talked about the serious neck injuries she sustained that partially led to her exit, she’s now opening up in a series of Instagram Stories even more about what went down.
Ruby specifically called out The CW, series creator and showrunner Caroline Dries, executive producer Sarah Schechter, and executive producer Greg Berlanti in her Stories, starting by promising to “tell the world what really happened on that set.” “I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again,” she said. “And so I can finally take back my life and the truth. Shame on you.”
Ruby then shared allegations of serious on-set injuries sustained by herself and other crew members, including third degree burns and dangerous stunts that almost led to graver injuries. She also said she was required to be back on set 10 days after getting surgery, even though she had hoped the show would pause production or “[spend] half a day to rewrite me out for a few weeks to heal.” Warner Bros. denied Ruby’s allegationns, calling them a “revisionist history.”
