Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) were absent from Emmerdale’s lockdown specials, but their location was revealed during tonight’s episode.
Marlon (Mark Charnock) revealed to Ellis (Aaron Anthony) that Charity and Vanessa are up in Scotland with Debbie (Charley Webb), spending lockdown with her.
Last we saw the soulmates, they were putting plans in order for Charity to adopt Johnny, as Vanessa battles cancer.
The ITV soap was forced to suspend production amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and therefore episodes were rationed out at three a week instead of the expected six, in an effort to ensure it remained on our screens.
However, production was able to resume prior to the soap going off air, and thus a series of special lockdown episodes were produced — the last of which aired tonight.
Marlon and Ellis decided to spend lockdown in Jacob’s Fold — Charity and Vanessa’s place — as plumbing issues at their own house rendered it impossible to live in given the bad smell.
However, that was the least of Marlon’s worries, as Ellis invited his dad Al (Michael Wildman) to spend lockdown with them — and the Woolpack chef was fuming, given that he and Al aren’t particularly fond of one another.
Emmerdale continues Monday 29 June at 7pm on ITV.
