Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is set to face her day of judgement in Coronation Street’s 60th anniversary episode as her verdict is revealed in front of a stunned court. But as she braces herself for years in prison, will she finally get justice and overcome the evil of Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew)?
With the prosecution trying to paint Geoff as the victim and Yasmeen as a liar, even testimonies from Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Alya (Sair Khan) left things uncertain as Geoff’s side accused Yasmeen of being a violent drunk.
But as more developments followed, the playing field was slightly levelled, with Yasmeen insisting to Alya that they now just have to wait for the jury to decide their outcome.
A nation will be rooting for Yasmeen with no doubt as much passion as Deirdre, the Weatherfield One. But will Yasmeen be free?
As the trial draws to a close will some damning new evidence see justice be done or is the nightmare just beginning for Yasmeen and Alya?
As the barristers deliver their closing speeches, Yasmeen stares nervously ahead.
The cases closed, the jury head out to deliberate and then quickly return with a verdict.
And the consequences will reverberate across a Street already at war…
