CORONATION Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale have produced some of the country’s best talents – so it should be no surprise that those talents are passed on to their children.
Some of the nation’s most beloved soap stars have raised international pop stars, megafamous streaming stars and even other soap stars.
Here we look at the stars who have some of the most famous kids around.
Kym Marsh and Emilie Cunliffe
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh shot to fame on Popstars as a member of Hear’Say so it’s no surprise her daughter is following in her musical footsteps.
Kym’s eldest daughter Emilie first came to prominence in 2015 when she took part in The Voice on BBC One.
However sadly none of the coaches stood up and she went home without a mentor.
A year later she released her single Dancefloor alongside Damon Hess – after co-writing it in Ibiza.
She is currently working as a makeup artist and enjoying life as a new mum with son Teddy Archie David Hoszowskyj.
Shane Richie and Jake Roche
EastEnders star Shane Richie isn’t the only soap star in his family – with son Jake following in his footsteps.
The singer and actor landed a role in Emmerdale briefly in 2010 – before deciding to focus on music.
Jake, the son of Shane and ex-wife Coleen Nolan, played Isaac Nuttall, in the soap but didn’t get any advice from either of his famous parents.
He said: "When I was auditioning they didn’t know who my parents were and I’d also auditioned twice before, so they obviously didn’t care about that or they wouldn’t have turned me down."
He is currently the lead singer of band Push Baby who had a number one hit with Me and My Broken Heart.
Sally Dynevor and Phoebe Dynevor
Sally has been one of the faces of Coronation Street for almost 40 years and become a national treasure.
However in just a year her daughter Phoebe has become an international sensation after starring in Netflix megahit Bridgerton.
She had already had roles in Waterloo Road, Younger and The Muskateers before landing the lead role of Daphne in the novel adaptation.
And according to mum Sally Phoebe was always going to be a star.
Sally, who is married to Emmerdale writer Tim Dynevor, said: "Phoebe decided she wanted to act when she was 12 or 13.
"My mother-in-law said ‘You mustn’t dissuade her. Actors are the most wonderful people in the world and the most fun’.
"I thought ‘She’s absolutely right. And even if it’s very difficult, she’s going to have a great time’."
Patsy Palmer and Charley and Fenton
EastEnders legend Patsy might be more known these days for living in Malibu and storming off Good Morning Britain, but she’s got two famous kids too.
The Bianca Butcher star’s eldest son Charley Palmer Rothwell has already made it big across the pond with roles in Legend and Dunkirk.
Charley, 28, also starred in BBC drama Our Girl opposite ex Corrie star Michelle Keegan.
Patsy’s other son Fenton Merkell, 20, is also making waves in the US as a model signed to Select Management in Los Angeles.
Denise Welch and Matty and Louis Healy
Coronation Street legend Denise is making it quite the habit to produce talented offspring.
The actress played Rovers landlady Natalie Barnes in the ITV soap for three years from 1997.
She’s also clocked up a role in EastEnders as a Slater and is currently starring in Hollyoaks as Trish Minniver.
Denise has yet to land a role in Emmerdale but that honour went to her youngest son Louis who appeared last year as drug dealer Danny Harrington.
The star’s eldest, singer Matty is internationally famous as the lead singer of chart-toppers The 1975.
Matty's band have had two number one albums and sold records all over the world.
Danny Dyer and Dani Dyer
EastEnders star Danny Dyer has played Mick Carter in the soap since 2013 when they made a bombshell arrival at Christmas.
He was a high profile signing for the soap after roles in Human Traffic and The Football Factory.
However, his daughter Dani, 25, found fame on Love Island in 2018.
She made a brief appearance alongside her dad on the BBC soap earlier this year – as a heavily pregnant cab driver who Mick needed to help.
Off-screen Dani welcomed her first child for real.
She gave birth to Santiago earlier this year – but has still found time for her old dad and their podcast, Sorted with the Dyers.
Danny recently said: “I was a baby when I had Dani – I couldn’t even shave.
“So me and my eldest daughter have grown up together. We are very close and she can tell me anything.”
Trudie Goodwin and La Roux
Emmerdale star Trudie Goodwin has a very famous daughter.
The matriarch of the Sharma family, Georgia, Trudie left the soap in 2015 when her character went on a world cruise.
She has been open to returning but she may prefer the quiet life being less famous – something not afforded to her popstar daughter Elly.
Otherwise known as La Roux, the singer is internationally famous.
"It’s very strange,” the actress told the Daily Record.
“She’s a lot more famous than I am because she is known worldwide.
"We had no expectations of them performing. But both of my daughters are musicians and songwriters.
"Music has always been a massive part of their life, not through me but through my husband. He is an actor but also an extremely good musician."
