EVERY year Strictly Come Dancing is plagued by the famous 'curse'.

But for some happy couples the romance has lived on, long after the show is over.

Which Strictly couples are still together?

Gorka Marquez and Gemma Atkinson

Gemma and Gorka weren't actually paired up on the BBC dance show in 2017.

Gemma was waltzing with Aljaz Skorjanec, and Gorka was with Alexandra Burke, however rumours of a romance between them began circulating during their time on the show.

But there was no confirmation that anything was happening, with Gemma telling The Sun that "once the series is over [they might start dating], but not right now".

Eventually, after months of radio silence, Gemma shared a Valentine's Day post of the pair in February 2018 which confirmed their romance and in July 2019 they welcomed their first child together, a daughter called Mia Louise.

Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley

After the Strictly curse struck Kevin's marriage to Karen Clifton, he was a single man.

In 2018 he was paired up with documentary film maker Stacey.

During her stint on the show, she split up with her boyfriend.

Stacey and Kevin went onto win the show, and each other's hearts.

They became a couple in early 2019, not long after the show ended.

Joe Suggs and Dianne Buswell

YouTuber Joe Sugg didn't get his hands on the Glitterball trophy in 2018, but he did say that he "won something a million times more special".

Rumours were circulating that Joe and dance partner Dianne Buswell we're doing more than just the tango.

Dianne separated from her boyfriend, actor Anthony Quinlan, earlier in the series, and fans started to sense she was growing closer to Joe.

The pair finally when public with their romance as soon as the series ended and since then have shared lots of cute selfies.

In August 2019 the pair announced that they had moved in together.

Jimi Mistry and Flavia Cacace

When Flavia and Jimi were partnered together in 2010, she was still with Matt Di Angelo.

However, just weeks after announcing her split from the soap star, the professional dancer got together with actor Jimi.

The couple are still together and were married in December 2013.

Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev

Countdown star Rachel split from her millionaire husband of 15 months Jamie Gilbert – just after her stint on Strictly in 2013.

At the time, Rachel insisted her professional dance partner Pasha Kovalev was not the reason behind the split.

However, the pair later confirmed their relationship in 2014.

They wed Las Vegas in July 2019 and welcomed their first child in December that year.

Ben Cohen and Kristina Rihanoff

Ben and Kristina were partnered together in the eleventh series of the show in 2013.

Shortly after he finished his time on the show, he announced he was splitting from his wife of eleven years, Abby Blayney.

Kristina and Ben later announced that they were now in a relationship, and in June 2016 the couple had a baby daughter, named Milena.

Ashley Roberts and Giovanni Pernice

Ashley and Giovanni, like Gemma and Gorka, weren't actually paired together on the show back in 2018.

However, like the other couples, there were rumours of a romance circulating.

During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine in January 2019, Giovanni, finally confirmed that the pair were dating: "We have, yes, [been on holiday]. We spent time together, yes."

The pair visited Ashley's family in Florida for Christmas 2018.

Ashley also opened up further about their romance on Good Morning Britain in May 2019: "We weren't partnered up, but we ended up having a bit of a romance on the show. It evolved into something much bigger after that."

When asked by host Piers Morgan if she was worried that the Strictly curse could hit herself and Giovanni's relationship, she replied: "That is a good question, but I do trust him."

What is the Strictly curse?

The Strictly curse is a phenomenon that hits celebrities and their dance partners during their time on Strictly Come Dancing.

Due to the harsh schedules, sexy dance moves and close quarters with their partners, their off-screen romances sometimes suffer as a result.

Strictly became regarded as "cursed" after a series of very public break-ups from show participants.
