Each season, Japanese design label F\/CE. (which stands for “Functionality, Culture and Exploration”) selects one country as its sartorial source. For Fall\/Winter 2023, the utilitarian label looked to Denmark, studying its original design culture to produce a collection that’s applicable to a “practical and democratic” lifestyle.<\/p>\n
Danish design ideologies are rooted in tradition and identity, with a special focus on durability, utility and sustainability, per the brand. With this in mind, F\/CE.’s creative director Satoshi Yamane crafted a pragmatic range of everyday wares, with refined style codes at the fore.<\/p>\n
The collection’s heroes include insulated trench coats, function-first puffer coats, distinguished knitwear and cropped blousons. Jackets employ loop-tie closures across the body; flannel button-downs are made thick for warmth, and cardigans appear in vivid, statement-making tones. Bottoms, meanwhile, arrive in varying shapes, on a color palette spanning a neutral spectrum, while skirts adopt roomy constructions in the same tones. Rounding out the range, seasonal headwear, including balaclavas and ear-flap caps, are prepped for colder climates.<\/p>\n
