{"id":67348,"date":"2023-08-28T11:39:01","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T11:39:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/likecelebwn.com\/?p=67348"},"modified":"2023-08-28T11:39:01","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T11:39:01","slug":"diy-sos-family-with-disabled-son-reveal-horror-after-hurtful-accusations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/likecelebwn.com\/entertainment\/diy-sos-family-with-disabled-son-reveal-horror-after-hurtful-accusations\/","title":{"rendered":"DIY SOS family with disabled son reveal horror after &#039;hurtful&#039; accusations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-28-at-10.53.04-0ee6.png\"><\/p>\n<p>A mother revealed how their dream DIY SOS renovation turned into a nightmare <strong>after vicious trolls attacked her family.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jackie Hutchinson, who made an appearance in the programme with her husband Colin and their three children in October 2019, hailed the experience as the \u2018best thing they ever did.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>The Hutchinson family, from Corby, Northamptonshire, worked alongside <br \/>TV personality Nick Knowles\u00a0and his team, who helped modify their home over nine days to support their teenage son Jordan, who suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They began shooting the episode before the coronavirus pandemic, which meant the rest was completed last year and the episode didn\u2019t air until May 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie claimed the family faced accusations of being on\u00a0benefits\u00a0and selling their house to move to\u00a0Dubai\u00a0\u2013 which she denies.<\/p>\n<p>She told MailOnline: \u2018A\u00a0few people who had been working on our home and wanted their five minutes of fame started targeting our family on social media, suggesting we were a bit of a con!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\"><\/p>\n<p>\u2018It was messages, negative comments from people, asking why their donated work hadn\u2019t yet been featured.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on her ordeal after the transformation, Jackie claimed that trolls accused the family of being \u2018benefit frauds\u2019 but also said the programme was the \u2018most amazing and positive experience and has changed all of our lives.<\/p>\n<p>After forwarding their hate mail to the BBC, the family were advised to disable their social media accounts \u2013 which they did.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after a family claimed\u00a0the show \u2018wrecked\u2019\u00a0their home<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peter Chapman and his\u00a0Cheltenham-based family\u00a0filmed the popular daytime show in February 2020 but have since found the home inadequate.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s claimed that he also asked the organisers not to air the show in June 2022 and has faced embarrassment in his local community since.<\/p>\n<p>A BBC spokesperson told\u00a0<strong>Metro.co.uk<\/strong>: \u2018DIY SOS is a heart-warming programme that brings communities together and helps improve the lives of those in need thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who give up their time to participate.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>DIY SOS is streaming on BBC iPlayer.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Got a story?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve got a celebrity story, video or pictures get in touch with the Metro.co.uk entertainment team by emailing us celebtips@metro.co.uk, calling 020 3615 2145 or by visiting our Submit Stuff page \u2013 we\u2019d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/08\/28\/diy-sos-family-attacked-by-online-trolls-19405488\/?ico=mosaic_home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A mother revealed how their dream DIY SOS renovation turned into a nightmare after vicious trolls attacked her family.
