The Crown recreates Charles and Camilla nuptials at York Minster (but bride is nowhere to be seen!)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Production for Netflix&#8217;s final series of The Crown in underway &#8211; but it appears some viewers are not excited about the latest instalment.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the\u00a0team behind the smash hit royal drama shared an insight into the new season.<\/p>\n<p>Its social media post featured an image from the upcoming series alongside a caption.<\/p>\n<p>The caption said: &#8216;After six seasons, seven years and three casts, [The Crown] comes to an end later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We&#8217;ll be back with more soon, but here\u2019s a hint at what\u2019s to come in our final season.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/17\/75047685-12479225-image-a-48_1693843337049.jpg\" height=\"755\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Netflix took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a sneak peek into the upcoming (and final) season of royal drama The Crown<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the image showed what looked like a church pew, upon which an order of service rested.<\/p>\n<p>The document said: &#8216;Service of prayer and dedication following the marriage of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall.\u00a0 St. George&#8217;s Chapel Windsor Castle. Saturday, 9th April, 2005 2.30 p.m.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>A number of viewers seemed disappointed with the apparent focus of the nuptials of Charles and Camilla, and the direction the post hinted the series may be going in. One wrote: &#8216;Team Diana.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>A second agreed, sharing the same sentiment in their response, which simply said: &#8216;Team Diana !!!&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another added: &#8216;No I will not watch the last season.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>And a fourth simply wrote: &#8216;No.&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some viewers noted that they had enjoyed the earlier seasons more than the later ones, with some criticising the programme&#8217;s artistic license.<\/p>\n<p>One said: &#8216;Loved the first two series. Let&#8217;s hope it&#8217;s a bit more realistic rather than showing the commodification of diana&#8217;s trauma from the deception of bashir and the media.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75046617-12479225-image-a-31_1693841792974.jpg\" height=\"841\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The then-Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall pictured in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle after their wedding ceremony on April 9, 2005<\/p>\n<p>Another wrote: &#8216;Will you finally admit that it\u00b4s fiction this time?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>However, others seemed more excited about the upcoming final series, including one keen viewer.<\/p>\n<p>They wrote: &#8216;I have loved every scene, minute and second of this show. I\u2019m gutted to say goodbye. Emotionally not prepared. But also ready. All I will say &#8211; is I hope Peter Morgan really is considering that prequel, so that we can see even more history from previous reigning monarchs.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The official update comes several months after photos from the set of the upcoming series were seen, showing the filming of Charles&#8217; and Camilla&#8217;s 2005 wedding ceremony.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Actor Dominic West, playing Charles, was snapped at York Minster as scenes were shot representing the royal&#8217;s second marriage, with the location\u00a0being used instead of St George&#8217;s Chapel in Windsor where the King and Camilla tied the knot.<\/p>\n<p>Photos from the filming also showed actors portraying Prince William and Prince Harry, as well Camilla&#8217;s children Laura Lopes and Tom Parker Bowles on set.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75046631-12479225-image-a-34_1693842848349.jpg\" height=\"99\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047253-12479225-image-a-37_1693842877736.jpg\" height=\"75\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75046621-12479225-image-a-39_1693842889816.jpg\" height=\"71\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047067-12479225-image-a-41_1693842906984.jpg\" height=\"107\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>For some social media users, the Netflix post about the upcoming series seemed a little disappointing<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the bride herself, who is portrayed by Olivia Williams, was nowhere to be seen in the snaps.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is understood Charles and Camilla&#8217;s nuptials will be portrayed in a positive way, with some working on the show hoping it will mean the public will be left with a &#8216;warm and happy&#8217; feeling rather than outraged over how Princess Diana&#8217;s death, at the age of 36, was depicted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A source close to Netflix told the Mail at the time the photos were published: &#8216;For some months it has felt like the show has been goading the public by ghoulishly telling the story of Diana&#8217;s death in a heartless way, therefore causing upset to Princes William and Harry needlessly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047525-12479225-image-a-43_1693842939447.jpg\" height=\"111\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047255-12479225-image-a-45_1693842952036.jpg\" height=\"72\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/04\/16\/75047571-12479225-image-a-47_1693843069210.jpg\" height=\"133\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>While a number of viewers seemed somewhat critical about the upcoming season, some appear more enthusiastic\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;So the decision to end it so nicely, Netflix hope, will change the perception that they want to be callous, they hope it will remove the bad taste from viewers&#8217; mouths.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Charles and Camilla&#8217;s wedding will be a true celebration and a really happy moment in the history of the monarchy.
