Russell Brand is facing further accusations as more women come forward with allegations of how he treated them, it has emerged.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the actor and comedian, 48, was\u00a0accused of rape, sexual assault and physical abuse,<\/strong>\u00a0in a\u00a0Channel 4<\/strong>\u00a0special episode of Dispatches airing in a joint investigation with The Times.<\/p>\n Brand has insisted his relationships have all been consensual and denied the allegations.<\/p>\n Since The Times published its bombshell investigation on Saturday, the outlet has been contacted by \u2018several women\u2019.<\/p>\n It reports the claims have been about \u2018Brand\u2019s behaviour since the early 2000s\u2019.<\/p>\n The new allegations are yet to be investigated but will be \u2018rigorously checked\u2019.<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a webbrowser thatsupports HTML5video<\/p>\n Brand has been accused by multiple women, including one who claimed she was 16 years old at the time.<\/p>\n He has also been accused of pursuing audience members for sex while presenting Big Brother spin-off shows EFourum and Big Brother\u2019s Big Mouth on Channel 4, while other allegations relate to when he was a radio presenter for the BBC.<\/p>\n Since reports first broke, the\u00a0BBC and Channel 4 have launched investigations<\/strong>, while a\u00a0women\u2019s charity has cut ties<\/strong>\u00a0with the actor.<\/p>\n Brand worked for the BBC between 2006 and 2008, until he stepped down after a controversial\u00a0prank call to Andrew Sachs, later dubbed Sachsgate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The investigation in The Times claims Brand\u2019s behaviour towards women was an \u2018open secret\u2019, noting: \u2018Many felt the\u00a0BBC\u00a0should have been awake to the concerns about Brand\u2019s on-air behaviour well before the Sachsgate scandal.\u2019<\/p>\n In a new statement, a BBC spokesman said: \u2018The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning a number of years.<\/p>\n \u2018Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programmes between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently looking into the issues raised.\u2019<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police force has encouraged anyone who \u2018believes they have been the victim\u2019 of sexual assault following the accusations against Brand to come forward.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/themes\/metro-parent\/img\/fallback.png\")
