\nThere have been so many accounts about the real Marilyn Monroe behind the screen, and Joan Collins just divulged an extremely personal account in her upcoming, and long-awaited memoir entitled Behind the Shoulder Pads: Tales I Tell My Friends.<\/em><\/p>\n

\nIn an excerpt obtained by DailyMail, Collins remembered the time she met Monroe, and how Monroe immediately warned her about Hollywood. “She was extremely friendly, so we started chatting. After a couple of martinis, she warned me about the harassment in Hollywood and the ‘wolves in this town.’”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\nCollins heartbreakingly wrote that she was “well used to them” after working in the British film industry, but Monroe persisted. “That’s nothing compared to the studio power bosses, honey,’ Marilyn replied. ‘If they don’t get what they want, they’ll drop your contract. It’s happened to lots of girls. Specially watch out for Zanuck. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he’ll fire you.’”<\/p>\n

\nCollins added that she replied, “Well, thanks for the advice,’ I said. ‘I’ll definitely keep away from him.’ I tried to heed her warning.”<\/p>\n

\nThe person in question is Darryl Zanuck, a studio executive who was accused of sexual abuse after multiple reports started coming out in 2017, per DailyBeast. Collins later detailed a horrifying account with him, where he allegedly pushed her up against a wall and tried to force himself on her.<\/p>\n

\nHe allegedly threatened to not give her the part if she didn’t comply, however, she wrote, “Luckily, this producer was overruled by the director and the head of the studio, so I got that role despite his threats.”<\/p>\n
