<\/p>\nPeter Kay has revealed that a portion of his ticket sales, from his opening night Apollo show in Manchester last week, will be donated to charity.<\/p>\n
The comedian, 50, paid his respects to his much-devoted fan Laura Nuttall after she\u00a0tragically lost her life at 23-years-old, following her cancer\u00a0battle.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The super fan was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an incurable form of brain cancer, following a routine eye test in 2018.<\/p>\n
And despite being given 12 months to live, she completed her very own bucket list and achieved milestones such as graduation, presenting BBC’s weather forecast as well as raising money for brain cancer charities.<\/p>\n
During Peter’s opening gig, he was praised for the touching gesture that deeply moved Laura’s mother, Nicola.<\/p>\n

Following the show, Nicola took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to give thanks to the comedian for his tribute.<\/p>\n
She wrote: ‘Such a brilliant night watching Peter Kay in Manchester, we laughed till our faces hurt and my goodness we needed it!<\/p>\n
‘Couldn’t have been more surprised when he mentioned Laura and her foundation. Thank you Peter you are truly a legend x.’<\/p>\n
In 2021, the stand-up comic emerged from retirement to host two live Q&A sessions in honour of Laura.<\/p>\n
The sold-out sessions raised funds which enabled Laura to travel to Germany for specialist treatment which wasn’t available in the UK.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Laura was diagnosed with a total of eight brain tumours and\u00a0underwent a craniotomy to remove the largest tumour, followed by an intense regimen of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Nicola announced Laura’s passing in an incredibly emotional tweet and wrote: ‘I’m heartbroken to share the news that we lost our beautiful Laura in the early hours of this morning.<\/p>\n
‘She was fierce and tenacious to the end and it was truly the honour of my life to be her mum. We are devastated at the thought of life without our girl, she was a force of nature.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Devastating:\u00a0Earlier this year, Nicola announced Laura’s passing in an incredibly emotional tweet<\/p>\n
After she was diagnosed five years ago, Laura and her family launched a campaign to raise money for her treatment and teamed up with charities including Our Brain Bank and The Brain Tumour Trust to raise awareness of glioblastoma.<\/p>\n
In the last few weeks of Laura’s live, Nicola said the family were spending as much time together as possible in the spring sunshine.<\/p>\n
She also said she was ‘pretty sure’ that Laura enjoyed watching the Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n
In May, Nicola shared how the family were making a cast of Laura holding onto her sister Gracie’s hand.<\/p>\n
Posting a photo of the first look at the final thing, she said: ‘This is just the first plaster version but I already love it.’<\/p>\n
