Laurence Fox made a string of lewd remarks about Ava Evans, the political correspondent for the online news site Joe, on Tuesday’s Dan Wootton Tonight on GB News where he claimed no “self-respecting man” would “like to climb into bed with that woman, ever”.

Good Morning Britain hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway grilled GB News host Michelle Dewberry about the investigation on Friday’s show. Ben began: “That was a prime-time show on your channel. One of the highest-rated shows on your channel had that interview where the host did absolutely nothing to stop those comments…”

Michelle interrupted the Good Morning Britain star, saying: “We all agree that’s wrong, I think it was appalling as I watched it when it happened and I had my head in my hands.”

“We are better than that,” the GB News presenter insisted. “That is not who GB News is, they have taken that action. Good for them taking that action, that demonstrates, the fact they have suspended those people like this, that demonstrates we don’t tolerate that, that’s not who this channel is.”

Kate chimed in: “You might be very against that but GB News has sort of presented itself as the bastion of free speech and the people should be able to say it how it is.
