Susanna Reid left Good Morning Britain viewers stunned over her interview technique after grilling Rishi Sunak.<\/p>\n
The broadcaster, 52, was described an \u2018absolute icon\u2019 for confronting the prime minister over NHS funding, the cost of living crisis and HS2 on Tuesday\u2019s episode of the ITV news show.<\/p>\n
\u2018She knew what she was going up against and very impressive how she kept directing him back to the questions,\u2019 a viewer commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n
\u2018Susanna is doing a brilliant job interviewing the prime Minister\u00a0#gmb,\u2019 another remarked, while a third said: \u2018Susanna Reid has just made the prime minister look like a complete out of touch idiot, which is pretty on brand.\u2019<\/p>\n
During the face-to-face at the Conservative party conference, Susanna addressed rumours the northern leg of high-speed rail line to Manchester had been scrapped.<\/p>\n
Susanna had asked Sunak if he was letting down the people of Manchester, where the conference was being held, by potentially axing the transport link, to which he dodged the question and insisted the event was going well.<\/p>\n

Refusing to back down, Susanna continued to calmly ask him to confirm or deny the cancellation of the extra HS2 route, but the flustered PM said he would not comment on the speculation.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Susanna lamented the length of NHS waiting lists, which have hit record highs over the past couple of months, remarking that the public health system is \u2018broken\u2019 under Sunak\u2019s watch.<\/p>\n
While Sunak denied the government was responsible for the NHS\u2019s decline, Susanna continued to relay figures to the contrary, including that over 7million people were currently awaiting appointments.<\/p>\n
