    Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson has officially married his long-term partner Debbie Stanley.<\/p>\n

    Charlie, who played Jim McDonald in Corrie from 1989 until 2000, tied the knot with Debbie in a star-studded ceremony attended by his Corrie co-stars and TV legends like Eamonn Holmes. In fact, Eamonn had a very special role on Charlie's big day because he was asked to do the service.<\/p>\n

    They decided to legally marry two weeks before their fairytale ceremony just so that Eamonn could carry out the special role Charlie, 64, told OK!: "We actually legally got married at Macclesfield Registration Office two weeks before the proper wedding, with just three witnesses, so Eamonn could do the service."<\/p>\n

    The soap star and Debbie, 59, who works for a domestic violence organisation, got marred at Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa in Cheshire. It's been a long-time coming as they have been together for 22 years.<\/p>\n

    A whole host of soap legends were in attendance at the ceremony, which was attended by 68 guests before 200 showed up for the party afterwards. Corrie star Simon Gregson, who plays Charlie's on-screen son Steve McDonald, was Charlie's best man.<\/p>\n

    Corrie resident Alison King, who plays Carla Connor, was one of Debbie's eight bridesmaids. Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Claire King (Kim Tate), and Vicky Entwhistle (Janice Battersby) were also there to support their good pals.<\/p>\n

    It's fair to say Charlie travelled in style as he rocked up to his wedding in a helicopter with best man Simon. Simon, of course, knows how to handle helicopter journeys as he was flown in on a chopper for his stint on I'm A Celeb in 2020.<\/p>\n

    Charlie looked dapper in a navy suit and blue silk scarf, and he was prepared for the rainy weather as he was armed with an umbrella. Debbie looked a beautiful bride in a white strapless bodice, a long coat and wife-legged trousers.<\/p>\n

    Officiator Eamonn had guests laughing at his cheeky quips, one of which had him suggest Debbie "could have married him" instead of Charlie. It was a reference to the fact that he was Debbie's TV crush.<\/p>\n

    Simon also had guests in fits as he shared a naughty anecdote about Charlie's days in theatre. And to top things off, Kym performed her band Hear'Say's hit Pure during celebrity karaoke.<\/p>\n
