FREDDIE Flintoff could start filming to return to TV screens in weeks after his horror Top Gear crash.<\/p>\n

The former cricketer, 45, was\u00a0left with horrific wounds on his face\u00a0last year after the crash while filming for BBC show Top Gear.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Freddie was not wearing a helmet when\u00a0he flipped the motor on the first bend of a track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome,\u00a0Surrey\u00a0last December.<\/p>\n

Now, the England legend has made the move to return to screens come 2024 after his family begged him to take time out to recover.<\/p>\n

Freddie is heading back to his roots for a new show revolving around his beloved cricket.<\/p>\n

He is set to make a second series of Field of Dreams, the\u00a0BBC1\u00a0documentary in which he introduced kids in his home city of Preston to the joys of the sport.<\/p>\n

The father-of-four petrolhead could also revive the stalled Chasing Cars for\u00a0BBC2, a renovations show described as \u201cThe Repair Shop meets Top Gear\u201d.<\/p>\n

He is also in discussions with producers about other projects.<\/p>\n

A TV insider told The Sun: \u201cFreddie is a hugely popular TV star and any channel or streamer would be thrilled to sign up one of his shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis return to the limelight is something both telly execs and the public have been longing for and thankfully he now seems ready to return to doing what he loves.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe just needs to get past the one year anniversary of\u00a0the crash, then he can focus on the next chapter of his career.<\/p>\n

"He\u2019s already in talks about what he wants to work on in 2024 and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Freddie, quizzed on\u00a0Piers Morgan\u2019s\u00a0Life Stories in 2014, may choose to be interviewed on the physical and psychological struggles he has faced dealing with his injuries.<\/p>\n

The Sun last week revealed Top Gear\u00a0will not be returning\u00a0after Freddie\u2019s accident.<\/p>\n

He was airlifted to hospital after a three-wheeler Morgan Super 3 he was driving without a helmet flipped over at just 22mph at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in\u00a0Surrey.<\/p>\n

Top Gear, which he hosted with\u00a0Paddy McGuinness\u00a0and Chris Harris, filmed its stunts and test drives there.<\/p>\n

But after the crash some\u00a0Top Gear\u00a0staff were left so traumatised that they needed counselling.<\/p>\n
