ITV will reportedly be following the success of their Big Brother reboot with a revival of its sister series Celebrity Big Brother.

The first series of the Big Brother reboot is currently airing on ITV2 and has been as dramatic as ever, with a recent task being dubbed the "worst ever".

And now industry publication Broadcast has reported that ITV is currently working on a CBB relaunch, which could be on TV screens as soon as next year.

The outlet has also suggested that the possible CBB reboot will see the show moved to ITV1, rather than airing on ITV2 like the civilian series.

ITV said: "At present we are focused on the current series of Big Brother and any announcements regarding future series will be made in due course."

As rumours of a CBB comeback began spreading on social media, fans have been quick to share who they hope will join the series.

Taking to X, previously Twitter, one fan posted: "While she’s on site they better be signing Mae Muller up as the first name for Celebrity Big Brother because she would own the entire thing #BBUK"

"Please put Charity Shop Sue into Celebrity Big Brother #ITV #BigBrotherUK we'd do anything to hear 'excuse me darlin' as part of an argument in the kitchen over a greedy housemate eating too much cereal" added another.

While a third wrote: "if ITV decide to reboot Celebrity Big Brother, would love to see @AlisonHammond re-enter the Big Brother house #bbuk"

And a fourth fans suggested if a CBB reboot is on the cards that viewers may see former health secretary turned reality TV contestant Matt Hancock make his way into the iconic house.

The last series of CBB aired back in 2018 and was won by Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas. The series became most-known for the 'punchgate row', which saw Roxanne Pallett falsely accuse Ryan of physical assault.

The rumours of CBB's return come after the Big Brother house was reportedly 'locked down' after a security breach just days into the newest series.

The lock down happened after a YouTuber had attempted to fly a drone over the Big Brother house, trying to scour the studios for an secret inside look.

And according to The Sun, a man claimed he had also somehow hacked into their radio systems and managed to listen into crew conversations.

Following these claims a Big Brother spokesperson told OK!: "We have robust and rigorous security measures in place across our site for the safety of the Big Brother house, production team and Housemates. Safety and welfare is always a priority."
