Angelo Bruschini has died aged 44 after a battle with lung cancer, the band confirmed.<\/p>\n

Massive Attack wrote on X: “RIP Angelo. A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent.<\/p>\n

“Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon. How lucky we were to share such a life together.”<\/p>\n

In another tribute shared via Instagram, they shared a photo of the guitarist as they admitted being “devastated”.<\/p>\n

Angelo also played for a number of other bands, including The Numbers and Rimshots.<\/p>\n

The Blue Aeroplanes, where Angelo was also a member, paid tribute to their “brother”.<\/p>\n

They said: “We are devastated to announce the passing of our brother Angelo Bruschini.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Rest In Peace Ange x.”<\/p>\n

Angelo joined the group in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

In a social media post in July, Bruschini wrote that he had been suffering from lung cancer and that several specialists had wished him “good luck”.<\/p>\n

He wrote: ‘Twice now I have been told ‘”Good luck'” by specialists at the hospital over lung cancer, I think I’m f***ed!’<\/p>\n

“Had a great life, seen the world many many times, met lots of wonderful people, but the door is closing, think I will write a book.”<\/p>\n
