In a resurfaced clip from 2022, the marathon runner was setting out on her run in a fairly remote area, filming as she checked off the miles

Samantha then starts her run, filming as she checked off the miles, and stopping in at regular intervals to share how she was feeling.

In the first few miles she mentions she has a half marathon coming up that she’s training for and about what music she’s listening to.

However, about halfway through her run at mile five – which was in a fairly remote area – Samantha’s tone changes and she mentions she’s seen a guy in what she believes is a red Pontiac repeatedly driving past her.

‘There’s this guy in a red car that’s driven by me twice and every time he drives by me (because I’m at the window) and he’s like looking behind but he’s driving by,’ she explained, sounding increasingly more upset.

‘It’s making me really nervous.’

As she continued to run, Samantha gets increasingly more alarmed, watching for the car to drive by again.

She then mentioned she was heading back to her car, but noticed it was parked right next to hers.

‘I do not feel good about this,’ she said. ‘I have to run by this car to get back to my car though there’s literally no other way around.’

At the five-mile mark, Samantha noticed a red car had passed her several times, which made her nervous

Samantha then made the decision to ask her parents to pick her up, saying with a shake in her voice she ‘can’t risk this.’

‘I don’t know what to do,’ she anguished. ‘It’s just one of those things where it’s like, you don’t think it’s gonna happen to you until it happens to you.’

‘I don’t wanna risk anything. I’m going to have my parents pick me up.’

Samantha then went to a neighbors’ house and asked if she could wait in their yard until her parents got there.

After the run, Samantha said she ended up calling the police and reporting the car to them.

‘I listen to way too many murder podcasts,’ she joked.

‘Just please be aware of your surroundings when you are going on runs. Carry protection with you, just be safe.’

After her parents pickled her up, Samantha reflected on her run urging people to always be careful and to trust their instincts

The clip has amassed thousands of comments, many from women who have found themselves in similar situations.

‘Why am I crying right now. As a woman, this is incredibly hard to watch. So real,’ one shared.

‘You did the absolute right thing!!’ another assured her. ‘I’ve been running 40 years. I’ve had to do this more than once. ALWAYS trust your instincts.’

‘Ugh when you said “I don’t know what to do” and almost cried, I felt that in my soul. It’s such a remote area, way too isolated, I’d be terrified too,’ a third user wrote.

‘Always better to be safe even if you feel like you’re just being paranoid,’ someone else declared. ‘Safety is priority.’
