According to Autoglaze, the spots, known as dot matrices, are to do with temperature. <\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Join the Daily Star&apos;s WhatsApp for the sexiest headlines, showbiz gossip and lots more<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>You can read more lifestyle stories from Daily Star here.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>An expert claimed it was to do with distributing temperature evenly to reduce optical distortion or lensing when driving. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31513192.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_Ice-crystals-on-outer-surface-of-windshield-and-embedded-dots-on-windshield-glass.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>They added: &quot;This happens when the frit band (the solid black one) heats up much faster than the windscreen&apos;s glass, creating an optical distortion that makes either straight lines look curved or bowed inwards toward the centre.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The dots also help &quot;preserve the urethane sealant used to bond the glass to the frame&quot; which ensures your windscreen firmly stays in place.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;They serve as a contact point between the glass and car frame,&quot; the expert continued. &quot;They create etches on the surface, making them rougher so the adhesive can stick better to the glass.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Autograze continued: &quot;Frits are also there for aesthetic purposes. If you look closely, the contrast between the dark band and the transparent glass can look too obvious even when viewed from afar.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Creating a halftone pattern or dot-matrix allows a gradual decrease in size, making the transition much more subtle and easier on the eyes.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31513150.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_Rural-drive-snowingjpgP.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31510699.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_JS317632270.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> &apos;I flaunt my big belly in skimpy Hooters outfits \u2013 I&apos;m fat but still sexy&apos;<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>People were amazed by the answer on Reddit, as one user said: &quot;That is brilliant and simple.
