TOWIE\u2019s James Lock has revealed on his social media that he is heading to Istanbul in Turkey for surgery after he was involved in a brutal accident on a TV show last year.<\/p>\n

The reality star was left looking unrecognisable after suffering severe face injuries while filming the first season of the UK's The Challenge.<\/p>\n

The series, which consisted of five episodes and aired earlier this year, left James being rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries to his face in the very first episode. James could be seen with some serious bruising on his face, puffy cheeks and two black eyes.<\/p>\n

At the time, a source told The Sun that James was eliminated first after \u201cfracturing part of his face\u201d and spending weeks in recovery.<\/p>\n

They explained: \u201cJames was rushed to hospital after seriously bruising his face within the first three days of filming the Challenge UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe injury was caused during one of the many dangerous activities contestants have to take part in. It was so scary to see. He was in agony.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Challenge sees celebrities tackling dynamic challenges to avoid elimination, with contestants previously competing in challenges like roller derby, braving icy waters, bungee jumping 700 feet and scaling vehicles at a great height.<\/p>\n

Without giving away what procedure he is getting done, James shared a video to his Instagram, along with the caption: \u201cI\u2019m starting my surgery journey this week with @serenecosmetic_ with @comfortzonesurgeryofficial being the surgery provider – stay tuned to see what procedures I\u2019m having.<\/p>\n

In the video, James shared: \u201cTo give you a clue, last year I did a TV show where I had an accident on that show, anyone that knows me, knows that the accident has bothered me, it\u2019s left a bit of a dent and the only way I can rectify it is through surgery so I\u2019ve thought about it long and hard and I\u2019m going to go out there and get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans send their best wishes to the reality star in the comments as one said: \u201cAll the best James can't wait to see what you have done," while another added: \u201cLove it. You get one body, do what you want to it to make yourself happy."<\/p>\n

A third added: \u201cGood on ya James…I wish you the very best!\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
