Antiques Roadshow: Barbie doll valued at \u00a31500<\/h3>\n

A guest on Antiques Roadshow was left gobsmacked after learning her old Barbie doll could fetch a very high price.<\/p>\n

The woman was visibly shocked when expert Judith Miller revealed: “I have never, ever seen a Barbie doll in this condition.”<\/p>\n

The guest could only respond with a surprised: “What?” Judith then gave a brief history of the iconic doll, which had surprisingly never been played with.<\/p>\n

Judith explained on the BBC show: “They were launched at the New York Toy Fair in 1959.<\/p>\n

“They were an immediate success. Everyone wanted a Barbie doll. I think Mattel has sold over a billion Barbie dolls. They cost three dollars when they were first launched.”<\/p>\n

“Do you think she’s very valuable?” asked the guest.<\/p>\n

Judith replied: “It’s not from the very beginning of production, it’s from the ’60s. I think this would sell for between \u00a31,200 and \u00a31,500.”<\/p>\n

The valuation left the guest stunned.<\/p>\n

Unsure how to react, the guest looked down in shock before replying: “Wow. Well.<\/p>\n
