MTV<\/I> is set to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary by airing “MTV Unplugged Presents: A Hip-Hop 50th Celebration of Jersey’s Finest” on Thursday (December 14) at 9 p.m. ET\/PT.<\/p>\n
On Friday, December 15, BET Media Group will air the special on BET<\/I> at 8 p.m. ET\/PT; the show will air on VH1<\/I> on Tuesday, December 19 at the same time.<\/p>\n
The star-studded special will feature performances and appearances by New Jersey hip-hop icons including Wyclef Jean<\/b>, Redman<\/b> and Queen Latifah<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The event will also feature appearances from Naughty By Nature<\/b>‘s Treach<\/b>, Poor Righteous Teachers<\/b>, Heather B<\/b> and The Sugarhill Gang<\/b>, with additional performances from Lady Luck<\/b> and Lords of the Underground<\/b>. <\/p>\n
Emmy winner Adam Blackstone<\/b> will handle musical direction for the special, which will be taped at the famed Newark Symphony Hall.<\/p>\n
Bruce Gillmer<\/b> and Vanessa Whitewolf<\/b> will serve as Executive Producers for MTV<\/i>, with Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere<\/b> and Yaneley Arty<\/b> acting as Executive Producers for Flavor Unit Entertainment. <\/p>\n
Alicia Portugal<\/b> will serve Series Executive in Charge, with Lisa Lauricella<\/b> taking on the role of Series Music Talent Executive. <\/p>\n
