Married At First Sight UK star Ella Morgan may not have found a husband on the E4 show, but she\u2019s made a new best friend and exciting plans for a new career path.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old was the first transgender contestant to take part in the dating show and while her two MAFS UK marriages didn\u2019t work out, she\u2019s realised a relationship isn\u2019t for her right now, and has also quit her job.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve realised my worth and that for me was the best thing to come out of this,\u201d she smiles. \u201cI\u2019ve left my job and what I want to do going forward is documentaries, TV presenting. I\u2019m lucky in that there\u2019s space for me in this industry \u2013 there aren\u2019t many trans presenters.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In the series \u2013 in which singles meet their future spouses for the first time at the wedding altar \u2013 Ella was matched with marketing manager Nathaniel Valentino before finding a romantic connection with Essex-based JJ Slater and continuing the experiment with him.<\/p>\n

Since amicably parting ways from JJ in the final episode, Ella, who\u2019s from Weston-super-Mare, has sworn off dating after her relationships on the show left her feeling \u201cslightly traumatised\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe final vows were the hardest moment for me and at the time, I didn\u2019t really know whether I wanted to leave him or just be friends,\u201d she says. \u201cI think I\u2019m still processing our break-up and our relationship.\u201d <\/p>\n

It may be over romantically with JJ, but Ella says they have become close friends and speak on the phone every day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted a boyfriend but I found an amazing best friend,\u201d she beams. \u201cHe\u2019s just the most amazing soul and he\u2019s changed my life for the better. He\u2019s the first guy really who\u2019s ever just accepted me and seen me as Ella. I was loved and accepted by a guy who usually I thought would not look at me twice, with him being an Essex boy and a real lads\u2019 lad.\u201d<\/p>\n

After her roller-coaster romantic life played out on the show, Ella is staying out of the dating game for the meantime.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to stay single for a bit and focus on my career, \u201c she says. \u201cI\u2019ve realised I\u2019m not ready for a relationship so I\u2019m going to have a glow-up and go out with the girls.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a lot of healing to do from the show and a lot of work to do on myself that I didn\u2019t realise until the show \u2013 I think that was clear from me watching it and people commenting on social media.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ella admits that she has a \u201cvery thick skin\u201d after growing up as a transgender woman and so can laugh off nasty comments on social media. However, she wasn\u2019t expecting a backlash after getting together with JJ, who was paired with jilted Bianca Petronzi at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t like people pitting women against each other, and me and Bianca were pitted against each other,\u201d she frowns. \u201cYou may not have agreed with my actions, but you don\u2019t need to give me a load of s**t, especially transphobic s**t, for it. The public really put me down to lift Bianca up.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are certain things I could say about my relationship with Bianca that I won\u2019t because I know certain people have said certain things and I\u2019d love to out them, but then I would be no different from all these trolls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although it didn\u2019t work out for Ella and JJ, the former clinic consultant is thrilled for her MAFS UK co-stars Georges Berthonneau and Peggy Rose, who are still together despite their many clashes on the show.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cI had my doubts in the beginning but I think they\u2019ll grow old together,\u201d Ella says. \u201cHe is so in love with her and she has accepted so much that I guess outside the experience she probably would not have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ella is more surprised that Jordan Gayle and Erica Roberts made their relationship work.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think they were quite right for each other. When they were good they were good, and when they were bad, it could be the T word \u2013 toxic,\u201d she whispers.<\/p>\n

With Christmas coming up, Ella says it\u2019s her favourite time of year \u2013 however, she\u2019s focusing on her milestone 30th birthday at the end of December. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a Capricorn! It\u2019s just after Christmas and I\u2019m going to go wild. I\u2019m hoping to do a whole month of celebrations in January and then go on holiday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to do a big party with the MAFS UK people, my London friends and my northern friends, because I\u2019ve got no man to do it for me. No one else is going to spoil me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ella admits she doesn\u2019t usually like to celebrate her birthday. \u201cI don\u2019t like getting old and I\u2019m not where I thought I\u2019d be in my life at 30, but you\u2019re only 30 once!\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the festive season, she will be spending as much time with her family as possible after months away filming MAFS UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m away a lot now doing different things so I would like to spend Christmas with my family,\u201d she says. \u201cI always put a real tree up in my nan\u2019s house and I love to decorate it. I\u2019ve got a dog now and this will be my second Christmas with him,\u201d she adds. \u201cWe\u2019re all just going to be at my brother\u2019s with my new baby nephew.<\/p>\n

\u201cI certainly won\u2019t be dating any time soon unless a certain sexy celebrity \u2013 who I won\u2019t name \u2013 ends up in my DMs. Who knows, then I might have a mystery man around the dinner table!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
