After persistent speculation surrounding their relationship, Chloe Madeley and James Haskell finally confirmed their split in October.
But almost two months later, 38-year-old James has reportedly “frustrated” Chloe by allegedly accusing paparazzi of “ending his marriage”.
The former rugby player was looking a little worse for wear as he left London hotspot Chiltern Firehouse, where it’s thought he addressed the breakdown of his marriage to photographers.
Although things might appear amicable between the former couple now, James’ latest comments are said to have hurt 36-year-old fitness trainer Chloe, according to a source.
“Blaming the photographers came as another blow for Chloe and she found it very frustrating,” they exclusively told new. “He might have gone a step too far this time.”
Chloe and James were in the midst of filming their fly-on-the-wall TV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, when the rumour mill went into overdrive about the state of their marriage.
James was first snapped talking to a mystery blonde and then he and Chloe were later spotted without their wedding rings on.
Two months ago, the pair released a joint statement to confirm they were no longer together, which referenced that they had “mutually” decided to separate and that they would continue to “co-parent” their 16-month-old daughter Bodhi.
Chloe later said on Instagram that splitting from her husband contributed to the “hardest summer” of her life.
However, this latest “public” message from James apparently doesn’t come as a surprise to Chloe, who has told fans numerous times there’s no chance of them reuniting.
“She wishes he would take some ownership of their split, but sadly she knows that will never be the case,” a source said.
“It’s also telling that she reinforced that they wouldn’t be getting back together after the incident,” they added.
The mum-of-one has been forced to make several statements about her marriage, in particular last month when a fan asked on Instagram, “Is there a chance you and James will get back together?”
Chloe replied, “James and I are not together any more but we are determined to be the absolute best parents we can be to our amazing little girl.”
And most recently, just days after James’ apparent outburst outside the Chiltern Firehouse, Chloe took to social media again to answer several queries from fans, including one who had written, “Are you and James back together? I hope so…”
Once again she confirmed their break-up, “No. We are friends and co-parents. I’d appreciate if this could be believed and accepted going forward.”
James and Chloe began dating in 2014, and tied the knot in 2018. Four years later they welcomed their daughter Bodhi.
And as a new year fast approaches, it appears that Chloe hopes to move forward from her heartache and put the past behind her.
“She wants to focus on herself and Bodhi,” our source said. Chloe has stayed true to her word and put her family first as she was spotted last week having an amicable dinner with James in London.
Hopefully, the pair can move onwards and upwards.
