According to claims, BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker is said to have left Strictly bosses seething after getting involved in a debate over reports that Nadiya Bychkova hasn’t been paired with a celebrity partner.
Dan, 46, and Nadiya, 34, competed together in the BBC dance competition back in 2021, prompting the Channel 5 News presenter to send a supportive message to the Ukrainian dancer, whilst objecting to the decision.
However, according to MailOnline: “Bosses are furious with Mr Walker, the BBC’s former Breakfast and Football Focus host, for wading into the row.”
The controversial tweet shared by Dan on X, formerly Twitter, read: “Looking forward to the new series of Strictly.
“All the pros are great but gutted that @NadiyaBychkova hasn’t got a partner. I’m sure she’s still looking forward to being part of the biggest show on TV but it feels a bit like putting Messi on the bench for the World Cup final!

“She is so talented, the best teacher anyone could hope for, a top class lobster and she’s the Yorkshire Barmaid!” Dan added, referencing the pair’s famous lobster-themed Halloween routine and a comical Instagram video series showing Nadiya trying out a Yorkshire accent.
The BBC declined to comment when contacted about the claims by Express.co.uk.
It comes as Nadiya was reportedly disappointed by not being paired up with a celebrity for Strictly 2023, following her success with Dan.
A source claimed to the aforementioned publication: “Nadiya was very surprised when she learned she would merely be part of he wider dance troupe. She felt like she had done well since she joined the show, so it was a shock.

“She wanted answers so she held several meetings with the bosses so she could get some answers. She is accepting it now.”
As the tallest professional dancer of the group, it was also reported that she was snubbed due to an unfortunate age-gap with the tallest celebrity male from this year’s lineup.
The Sun pointed out that the only male star tall enough to be partnered with her was 6ft 2 EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, 20.
However, according to the publication, bosses felt there was an “uncomfortable” 14-year age gap between the pair, and opted against partnering them up.
“The only person she could have been paired with is Bobby but bosses felt there was something odd about the fact that the particularly fresh-faced Bobby only turned 20 this summer, while Nadiya is a mature woman,” a source claimed.
