G-SHOCK is collaborating with Hong Kong-based creative and personality, Eric Kot for a special release that commemorates both G-SHOCK’s 40th anniversary and 4A Like Black’s 20th anniversary. Following the previous unveiling of a collaborative basketball hoop, the second installment of the G-SHOCK x 4A like Black crossover stars a limited-edition “HEROIC KOGIANT” sculptural piece, which comes sporting a DW-5600E-1V watch.
Standing 36mm tall, the burly “HEROIC KOGIANT” figure is dressed in all-black attire that embodies 4A Like Black’s signature aesthetics and style. Its oversized T-shirt is imprinted with 23 on the back and sleeves, nodding to its basketball inspiration. On the hem of the T-shirt emblazons four X motifs, which are intended to be read like Roman numerals to signal G-SHOCK’s 40th anniversary.
An all-black DW-5600E-1V watch can be spotted on the figure’s left wrist, geared with all the quintessential functions that are offered with every G-SHOCK DW-5600 model. The watch can be stored inside the torso of the “HEROIC KOGIANT,” which opens up to grid-like storage for storing loose items, jewelry, and other small bric-a-bracs.
Only 300 examples will be released, with each “HEROIC KOGIANT” coming with a unique batch number as proof of its limited availability. Priced at $4,380 HKD (approximately $560 USD), the collaborative piece will be officially launched on October 6 at the Popcorn Supply store in Hong Kong, as well as THE BIG APPLE flagship in Macau. Purchases made at the aforementioned stores will come with a complementary mini-basketball hoop or special-edition tote bag until supplies run out.
From October 16, the “HEROIC KOGIANT” will also be available as a $3,980 HKD (approximately $509 USD) add-on purchase option for any G-SHOCK watch order at Casio’s official online flagship.
