G-SHOCK, primarily known for its utility-driven rugged and robust timepieces has announced a stealthy new offering, a ninja-themed series of watches.
The trio set to release is made up of the GA-2100NNJ-8AJR, DW-5600NNJ-2JR and DW-6900NNJ-1JR — all of which are thought to be made in Japan, as reflected by the text “Japan Ed” on the caseback of the GA-2100 and due to the fact that the release is expected to be exclusive to the region.
All of the watches take on sleek black and grey looks, with accenting ninja-inspired throwing stars found integrated throughout. On the DW-5600 these stars can be found at each corner of the face and on the stainless steel band keeper as well as presented in red when the backlight is turned on.
As for the DW-6900, it features a black and grey camouflage design with a singular red throwing star at the top center of the face. Additionally, the face of the watch is presented in such a way that it looks like a ninja peering through its mask. Other design elements include the same stainless steel band keeper with three throwing stars on it.
Arguably the most detailed of the set is the GA-2100, which features a semi-translucent grey body and strap. The watch is equipped with a date marker that is represented in the form of a red throwing star with a white tip on one of its prongs, which acts as an indicator. Other notable details include a large throwing star at the caseback and the same stainless steel band keeper featuring a set of four stars.
Prices for the limited edition Ninja Series watches are as follows: $122 USD for the DW-5600, $141 USD for the DW-6900 and $152 USD for the GA-2100. The series is expected to be released exclusively in Japan starting sometime in October.
