London-based artist and athlete SOLDIER wants to change the world. The rising creative has placed himself under international light, delivering mixed media artwork that examines military practices. SOLDIER is uniting with Timberland to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its 6-Inch boot, taking inspiration from disruptive systems and non-conforming lifestyles.
SOLDIER explored his Nigerian hometown to inform the collaboration, visiting local barbershops that honor his cultural heritage. The limited boot is hand-painted in American patriotic patterns, with faded stars and stripes resembling the US flag. Timberland’s 6-Inch boot is honored through essential design, maintaining its tan nubuck uppers and padded leather collars. Gilded eyelets and two-toned lacing complete every pair finished with standard rubber sole units.
Take a closer look at the SOLDIER x Timberland 6-Inch boot collaboration in the gallery above. The range was showcased at the Secret Timberland 50th Rave at London’s Fabric nightclub and will not be for sale.
