Another star has put their two cents in on the messy divorce drama between Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. While many A-listers like Emily Ratajkowski and Bethenny Frankel have shown their support for Turner, one former child star is highlighting their experience with Jonas when they were teenagers (and it has everything to do with his alleged hypocrisy).
On Sept 8, former Nickelodeon star Alexa Nikolas shared her story of when she met Jonas back in the day. She alleged that he asked for nudes, despite proudly wearing his purity ring. The Zoey 101 alum took the allegation to Twitter, saying, “I met Joe Jonas when we were teens and let’s just say he’s the guy who wore a purity ring but asked for nudes. 💀”
For those who don’t know, Jonas and his brothers Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas wore purity rings back in their Disney Channel days (along with Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez). He spoke about the rings in a 2013 interview with Vulture, saying, “Back then, we explained that we had made these promises to ourselves when we were younger. A few months later, it comes out that we’re in some cult and that we’re these little staged Mickey Mouse kids. People were coming up to us, saying, ‘Thank you so much, I’m waiting because you guys are, too!’ And we just thought, ‘No! That’s not what we’re about.’”
Now, those purity rings (mainly his) have been a point of conversation for years following. In fact, Joe’s estranged wife Turner even joked about it in the 2021 Jonas Brothers Family Roast.
“This was about faith. This was about principle. This was about taking a stand and setting an example,” she said. “Look, Joe Jonas wasn’t just sticking his fingers in some dumb metal rings. He was sticking his fingers in costars, actresses, and even a supermodel or two.”

Along with Nikolas’ allegations, many have called out Joe’s hypocrisy amid his and Turner’s divorce. Many reports and sources have claimed that Turner’s partying was a contributing factor to their shock divorce, but many fans have pointed out both the fact that Joe parties just as much and that they referred to Turner as a “homebody” in previous interviews.

Joe and the Game of Thrones alum started dating in 2016, eloped in 2019, and welcomed two daughters named Willa and another daughter whose name they haven’t released. They announced their divorce in Sept 2023.
