After taking home the trophy for Menswear Designer of the Year at the 2023 CFDA Awards earlier this month, Willy Chavarria is back to work. The Fresno, California-hailing designer, who previously dropped collaborations with the likes of Dickies and Pro Club this year, has returned with an all-new joint collection, made in partnership with West Coast streetwear label FB County.
At large, the collaboration marks a fusion between Chavarria’s coined design language and FB County’s “iconic mark on fashion through Chicano street culture,” per the brand. Chavarria, who is known to a take a dramatic approach to typical streetwear tropes, looks to pay homage to the Cali label, which helped shape the wardrobes of his culture, through his distinctive lens.
Building a structured workwear wardrobe, the seven-piece capsule collection focuses on the basics — but with a Chavarria twist. Classic “Charlie Brown” striped polos appear in signature brown, navy and red tones, while deep-pleated, wide-leg trousers opt for a high waist. Meanwhile, traditional work shirts, which come in both black and khaki colorways, boast oversized shapes and exaggerated sleeves.
The Willy Chavarria x FB County collection is now available to shop on Chavarria’s webstore. Prices range from $195 USD to $250 USD. Take a closer look at the collaboration in the gallery above.
