Dua Lipa just debuted a new beauty look featuring barely-there eyebrows

SingerDua Lipahas been slowly cementing her place in the fashion world, and now she’s been given one of the highest sartorial honours – the September cover of Vogue France.

For her cover look, Dua was dressed in an oversized leather jacket with a stand up exaggerated collar, but it was her major beauty transformation that had everyone talking.

Although she’s known for having some of the best brows in showbiz, for her French Vogue debut, Dua ditched her usually dark, fluffy arches in favour of a dramatic makeover – bleached, barely there eyebrows.

Although a major departure from her usual look, we have to admit we’re a little bit obsessed with the look, as Dua joins a whole host of celebs who’ve experimented with the bleached brow trend this year, includingKylie Jenner– although we’re hoping the singer’s experience was a little more positive thanKylie’s bleach mishap.

TikTok has already gone wild for her new look, with comments saying: “This shoot was stunning,” and “This is amazing.”

Bleached brows have definitely been having something of a moment this year, and although most people think of the trend as being exclusively for the fashion world, it’s actually a pretty accessible trend that you can do yourself at home.

If you’ve been itching to try it out but haven’t quite taken the plunge just yet, it’s actually very easy to recreate. All you need is some brow-safe bleach (not just any old hair dye) and a steady hand.

To get Dua’s brows, use a bleach that’s designed for sensitive areas like the face, such as the Jolen Crème Bleach available for £4.40 here, which lightens hair without affecting your skin.

Simply wash the area you’re going to be bleaching – in this case your eyebrows – with soap and cold water, before taking a dry spatula and measuring approximately ¼ of a teaspoon of bleach powder with half a teaspoon of the crème and mixing it well.

Using the spatula, carefully apply the bleach to your brows, making sure you’ve fully coated all the hairs in the formula so you don’t end up with patchy areas. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse off, then admire your brand new Vogue-worthy brows.

If you’re not quite ready to fully commit to the bleached look, or just want to see how you’d look with barely there brows before you take the plunge, there are some clever makeup tricks that can help you get a more temporary appearance of bleached brows.

There are a couple of products that can help you nail the look, with the most straightforward option being to take a brow gel in the lightest colour you can find, like the Milk Makeup Kush Fiber Brow Gel in shade Haze, £16.80 here (was £21).

This coats your brows in a barely there blonde shade that gives a subtle illusion of bleached brows. For a more dramatic look, take a very light concealer or a shade that matches your skin tone, like the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in shade Chantilly, £18.20 here (was £26), and use a spoolie to work it through your brows, coating the hairs thoroughly.

You can then lock them in place using a clear brow or lighter brow gel to help shape them and give them a natural looking finish.

So, whether you’re ready to commit to a full time bleached brow or just want a one-off attempt, now you can get the full Dua look at home in minutes.
