Love Islands Georgia Harrison in talks to run for MP and has party approval

Georgia Harrison has turned her focus to a political future after a difficult few years.

She initially rose to fame on reality TV having appeared on both Love Island and The Only Way is Essex. However in recent years, Georgia's main focus has been fighting her ex Stephen Bear in court after he shared a video he'd secretly filmed of them having sex.

After winning the court and getting the law changed so victims can find it easier to get justice, Georgia has set her sights on the next big task. She told The Sun that she's had "serious conversations" with Labour MPs about running for Essex.

Georgia explained that they said it would be possible, but said she should go away and think about it. "They said if I was being serious about running for an MP it is something that they would support me with," she added.

The TV star said they need "more normal people" going into politics. She explained that after speaking with the MPs they would explain exactly what it would entail, and she's ready for it all.

Her decision to go into politics comes after multiple meetings with Labour MPs and attending the Labour conference in Liverpool. Georgia has been ensuring her voice is heard after taking her case against Bear to court.

She sued him for damages after he filmed them having sex on his CCTV and later posted it to his OnlyFans which saw him profit from the clip. He was found guilty of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private, sexual photographs and films.

He is currently serving jailtime and was ordered to pay £207,900 to Georgia, the highest ever sum awarded in an image abuse case. She then campaigned to amend the Online Safety Bill in the months since.

Following the court case, Georgia has released her own documentary titled Revenge Porn: Georgia Vs Bear, and just this month she was named Activist of the Year at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
