Contestant gets 'emotional' over connection with other player
Deal Or No Deal saw one of the stars breaking down on Thursday’s show as they bid farewell to player Katie.
Optimistic Katie was delighted to take on the banker during the latest edition of the revamped ITV gameshow.
Katie had been tempted on a few occasions to take the banker’s high offers but explained she and her nan used to watch the old show together and would wish for the player to stay until the end of the game.
She hoped to use any money to put towards her dream wedding, so struggled to turn down the banker’s generous offers.
As the boxes slowly dwindled, Katie was left with some high red figures as well as a few low blue ones.

Eventually, she got payer Sylvia’s box, and her co-star became very emotional.
“Katie, we first met in the first 10 minutes,” she announced before revealing the value of her box.
She continued: “And it’s been an absolute joy,” before pausing, seemingly unable to speak.
“Are you getting upset?” host Stephen Mulhern asked.

Sylvia nodded tearfully as a stunned Stephen replied: “Are you?”
“Stop, you’re making me cry!” a touched Katie replied, to which Sylvia added: “I know, it’s awful!”
She went on: “Come on, let’s get on with it!”
“Sylvia, you said you wouldn’t accept £5,900, you said you’d play on… well, fingers crossed you’ve got a blue,” Stephen commented.
“I feel… I think – oh, I don’t know!” Sylvia worried before opening the box to reveal a figure of £1.
Overwhelmed with relief, Katie rushed over to give her friend a hug.
“Thank you so much!” She beamed as Sylvia wiped away tears.
“This is a great start for this round,” Stephen remarked as other players also became emotional.
“I know it’s only been a few days but they’re like my family!” Kate stated.
Deal Or No Deal airs weekdays from 4pm on ITV.
