Emmerdale: Are Lawrence Robb and Natalie J Robb related in real life?

We know them best for playing on-screen siblings Moira Barton and Mackenzie Boyd in Emmerdale, but one common question that continues to surround stars Lawrence Robb and Natalie J Robb, is whether or not the duo are actually related in real life?

The pair, who are continually shown to have excellent on-screen chemistry have frequently been spotted both on and off set at various events since both arriving on the soap, from swanky awards bashes to fitness feats for charity, showing a strong bond and clear connection.

However, despite sharing a surname, that’s the extent of the talented stars connection, as Lawrence and Natalie are not related, despite many assumptions to the contrary.

So why exactly do people think the pair are real life siblings?

The confusion largely stems from the fact both stars hail from a similar corner of Scotland, with Lawrence and Natalie having actually grown up in villages just 30 miles apart from each other!

Lawrence, 31, was born in Killmacolm, just outside Glasgow, while Natalie hailed from Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.

The pair do, of course, also share the same surname and given their similar complexions and hair colours, fans had immediately jumped to the incorrect conclusion that the duo were related in real life!

Despite not sharing any blood connection however, the duo are still firm friends with the stars frequently having appeared on each others social media feeds over the years, often at times with other members of the Emmerdale cast.

Earlier this year, the competitive on-screen siblings both took on a special challenge to help support co-star Lisa Riley, who was raising vital funds to help Maggies Yorkshire, a cancer charity located in the dales.

Sharing a snap of herself and the cast, Natalie wrote: “Proud to support @lisajaneriley and #TeamEmmerdale at the ‘Walk for @maggiesyorkshire ’ 5km today in Leeds.

“Maggies Yorkshire help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries.

“ All their support is free and you don't need an appointment or referral – you can just walk into one of their centres alongside NHS hospitals or contact them online.

“An incredible charity and so worthy of our support!"

Emmerdale continues weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
