Lacey Turner teases another EastEnders icon could return from the dead at Christmas

EastEnders starLacey Turner has teased that a soap legend could be making a return to Albert Square later on this year.

Lacey, who is known for playing Stacey Slater on the hit BBC One soap, is currently at the centre of a dramatic flash-forward storyline which hasseen six characters in The Queen Vic left dealing with a dead body on Christmas Day 2023.

With the murder mystery plot gradually unfolding having kicked off back in February, viewers at home have beenbusy speculating what they think could’ve happened as well as who the unknown victim and perpetrator could be.

And now, Lacey has teased fans after sharing her own thoughts on the dramatic storyline while giving them a look at a day in the life on set over on EastEnders’ TikTok and Instagram account.

“Before we go, I just want to have a talk about ‘the six’ and the flash-forward. I have thought that I have known who it is many times and then very quickly I’ve thought ‘well, no that doesn't work’ or ‘that’s too obvious’. So I actually have no idea. I have no idea,” she said.

The soap star then gave fans a peek inside of her dressing room, which featured an entire wall dedicated to pictures of her character Stacey’s late husband Bradley Branning, who was played by Charlie Clements.

“This is my shrine to Bradley. These are all pictures that I've collected over the years that are photoshoots,” she said. “Or James [Bye] bought me this one for my 30th of him picking me up the nose, because that's the sort of thing James Bye does when you're waiting for someone to say ‘action’. But yeah, it looks like a shrine to Bradley.”

But while Bradley may have been killed off during the show’s 25th anniversary when he fell off the roof of the Queen Vic, Lacey hinted that he could be making a shock return.

She said: “Enough of that, Bradley’s dead. Or is he? Could he reappear at Christmas?”

Since departing the show back in 2010, actorCharlie has continued to act though briefly changed careers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During Covid-19 lockdown Charlie switched careers andbriefly became a chef in a garden centre before moving to the plant department. Revealing the news in a 2021 Instagram post, the TV icon explained that he’d soon be returning to his acting work following a stint as a chef.

In the selfie, Charlie wore some chef’s whites. He captioned the post: “Last day as a chef today!! On to rehearsals next week… #actorslife”.
