Strictly: Lesley Joseph shares her advice for Les Dennis
Lesley Joseph revealed she has given some advice to friend and upcoming Strictly Come Dancing star Les Dennis ahead of his debut on the BBC show.
After discussing Lesley’s stint on the show back in 2016, Ranvir Singh asked who she was going to be supporting.
Lesley and Les first became friends when they starred in BBC seires Pilgrimage, where they trekked through Italy.
Ranvir asked: “You know Les Dennis obviously because you did the show with him, who are you… Are you backing…”
Finishing her sentence immediately, Lesley exclaimed: “Oh I am backing Les! 100 percent all the way, all the way because he will be such fun.

“I have been giving him advice and telling him ‘Get fit Les, get fit’ so he has been walking and exercising and doing all things like that!”
Ravir laughed and added: “Have you? Because it is the stamina!”
Lesley agreed: “Do you know what, stamina, that is all it’s about, I am doing a musical now and I need stamina for that.
“People always say if you do a musical you need to live like a nun, so I am a nun on stage and off stage because you have to keep your voice every night.
“And there is a lot of dancing in it and a lot of moving in it so all the time you have to keep fit.”
Lesley was partnered with Anton Du Beke who is now a full-time judge on the BBC show, and was the fifth star to be eliminated from the series.

Following her exit, the Birds of a Feather actress said: “I’ve loved learning a new dance every week.
“It’s been so lovely. Working with Anton has been lovely. This whole journey has been lovely. It’s come to an end now but that’s fine.”
Les Dennis was announced as the 15th celebrity to be joining the Strictly team after weeks of speculation.
Discussing his upcoming journey, he told the BBC: “I’m thrilled to be doing this iconic wonderful show as I approach my 70th birthday!
“In my career, I’ve always gone for challenges outside my comfort zone and this is the ultimate one! Can’t wait.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns this September on BBC One.
