Angela Scanlon has apologised after sharing a clip of herself leaning out of a car window.
Currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing with professional Carlos Gu – the pair did the Tango to Miley Cyrus tune Prisoner at the weekend – The One Show regular Angela, 39, was filmed busting some moves without wearing her seatbelt.
MailOnline obtained the video itself, although the star quickly deleted it from her Instagram account after she was reported to the police.
"I made absolutely the wrong decision when I filmed this video," Angela's statement read. "I was coming from rehearsals and was giddy with excitement. That’s not an excuse, because what I did was stupid and I’m sorry I let my excitement get the better of my judgement."
This comes after the mum-of-two told OK! of how she manifested the Strictly dream by going down the Jim Carrey route in the 2008 comedy film Yes Man.
"I went into this year with the mentality of whatever is chucked at me, I'll say yes," Angela exclusively revealed.
"It’s maybe a bit bigger than I was hoping for but I asked for it, so I’d better go with it."
Hosting OK! in her house as she prepared for a week of Strictly rehearsals, Angela had just learned the identity of her pro partner.
"I felt like I was in limbo waiting to hear and everyone kept saying, 'Who do you want it to be?' I didn’t want to say it out loud because if it didn’t happen, I’d have been quite devastated," she noted.
Apparently, this wasn't the first time the BBC show came knocking on her door.
"I have a five-year-old and an 18-month-old and it still feels a little delicate for me, but I’m really big into timings. We’ve had the conversation before and it hasn’t been right – I’ve been trying to have a baby or thinking about having a baby or pregnant.
"When it came in this year, there wasn’t really a question. [Her oldest daughter] Ruby loves the show. She was like, 'Can I do it, too? Are we doing it together?' She was quite devastated when she realised she couldn't dance with me," said Angela, who's married to Roy Horgan, CEO of SES-imagotag plc.
Fans partly have the 48-year-old tech expert to thank for his wife's involvement this autumn. "He said go for it," Angela told us. "That’s always been his mentality. Hugely supportive and of the school of thought that you regret the things you don’t do rather than the things that you do. Sometimes I can be selective or protective of myself, but actually, I’m just a bit afraid.
"I’m trying to manage my expectations of myself and everybody else around me," she added. "The resounding feedback [from Strictly alumni] has been, 'Brace yourself but it’s the best thing you’ll ever do'. That’s my motivation in life generally, to do things that feel frightening and really uncomfortable, and I feel like I haven’t done it for a while."
Strictly Come Dancing continues this weekend on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
