Brian Cox discusses his plans for his continued career
Succession star Brian Cox has said that James Bond shouldn’t be changed or mucked around with, despite the older films from the franchise now facing accusations of not being politically correct enough.
The 77-year-old, who is starring in a Bond-themed reality show called 007: Road to a Million, has shared his thoughts on the iconic Bond series.
While speaking about swapping television-series Succession for theatre, the actor told RadioTimes when quizzed on woke critiques of Bond films: “People have disclaimers now on some older programming which is fine, but at the same time, it’s a wonderful tradition that we try to carry on.
“We don’t muck around with Shakespeare, we shouldn’t muck around with James Bond.”
Brian has been given the role of ‘The Controller’ in the series, the enigmatic character who controls the fate of the contestants on 007: Road to a Million.
