Brian Cox warns dont muck around as he slams woke bid to change James Bond

Brian Cox discusses his plans for his continued career

Succession star Brian Cox has said that James Bond shouldn’t be changed or mucked around with, despite the older films from the franchise now facing accusations of not being politically correct enough.

The 77-year-old, who is starring in a Bond-themed reality show called 007: Road to a Million, has shared his thoughts on the iconic Bond series.

While speaking about swapping television-series Succession for theatre, the actor told RadioTimes when quizzed on woke critiques of Bond films: “People have disclaimers now on some older programming which is fine, but at the same time, it’s a wonderful tradition that we try to carry on.

“We don’t muck around with Shakespeare, we shouldn’t muck around with James Bond.”

Brian has been given the role of ‘The Controller’ in the series, the enigmatic character who controls the fate of the contestants on 007: Road to a Million.

Having played one of the most misunderstood men in television history [in Succession], it was a no-brainer to be a Bond villain of sorts.”

As fans celebrated James Bond day on October 5, Prime Video released a teaser trailer for the new reality series.

The trailer shows a glimpse of a handful of some of the nail-biting challenges the contestants are put through.

Contestants will be faced with tasks like climbing a crane, balancing on top of a moving train, and driving an Aston Martin down winding hills.

Brian’s ‘The Controller’ has also been revealed to be the mastermind behind the game, who dictates where the pairs go, what they must do, and sets their questions.
